WHO IS FOODZILLA?

It doesn’t take more than a few minutes to understand why Richard Gruica, has the nickname “Foodzilla.” With his larger than life personality and his zeal for all things food related, Jamaican-born Croatian American, Richard Gruica has established an extensive culinary background derived from working for some of the best chefs in the US and for opening and running the first Nuevo Latino restaurant in Australia. 

After relocating back to the US to start a family and working as a consulting chef, Richard moved to Charlotte, North Carolina and started Good Eats and Meets, an online based dining and socializing group which has grown to be the largest group of its kind in the United States, with thousands of members. There are now Good Eats and Meets groups in 6 cities (Atlanta, Charlotte, Columbia, Greenville, Miami and Washington DC) and more coming in the future. 

Over the past 7 years, Richard and Good Eats and Meets have hosted thousands of events and now the culinary adventures are stretching to Europe with the upcoming start of Captivating Croatia Tours, a gourmet food and wine tour that will take guests on a once in a lifetime journey of Croatia. From his professional life to his personal life, the one constant is food and all the great things that revolve around food…family, friends and great memories.
